The Oscars 2023 may have come and gone but one person stole the show and that’s no other than Tems.
The Nigerian singer’s outfit has got everyone talking on social media.
The ‘Crazy Things’ crooner who was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Music (Original Song) category for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” track “Lift Me Up” — wore a puffy white gown that wrapped around the back of her head.
Her showstopping white hooded gown was made by LA-based fashion designer Lessja Verlingieri of Lever Couture.
While the songstress looked absolutely breathtaking, her headpiece blocked the views of those sitting behind her which got a lot of people talking.
“Imagine waiting your whole life to be at the Oscars and you end up sitting behind a stratus cloud,” one Twitter user said, comparing the garment to a mass of condensed water vapor.

Tems dress was beautiful.
Tems is drop dead gorgeous.
Tems is my star girl and all that.
Tems blocking people’s views with her dress was inconsiderate.
People pointing that out is not racism as long as they aren’t using derogatory language.

The only reason why white ppl are crying and shouting because of Tems outfit is because she’s a black African woman. If it was a white woman, we all know how the headlines would have been. Highest she blocked 6 ppls views out of about 1 thousand guests. She slayed and SLAYED pic.twitter.com/xS9Jl44bnc

Tems is the main character and everyone else is either a supporting actor/actress or an extra. Thanks for coming to my TEDTalk 🙏🏾
